UPLIFTING COMMUNITY VOICES.
PROVIDING CULTURALLY RELEVANT,
Founded by African Immigrants.
For African Immigrants.
Helping OUR COMMUNITY thrive.
ACHD is a solution-oriented organization
that takes a holistic approach to addressing the needs
of the African diaspora in King County, WA.
We walk alongside our clients, working together with them and
our partners to solve community-based problems.
Our goal is to help our community members live lives where they are
faced with the least amount of barriers to success and happiness!
Our programs are unique because everything that we do centers around celebrating and supporting
our community and cultural traditions.
All of our services and programs center around 6 core areas of focus:
We provide legal referrals, host educational
workshops, create unique programs and provide one-on-one case management for
community members in need of support.
African immigrants to the U.S. have to navigate a new language, new societal rules and unfamiliar bureaucratic systems. This makes it difficult for them to find the help that they need.
At ACHD, everything that we do comes from a place of cultural understanding, solidarity and familiarity. Because we share the same story as our community members, we are able to ensure that when they come to us, they can speak for themselves, from their own hearts, rather than having their voices interpreted.
When our clients come to us for help, they know that they are coming to people who they can truly trust to put their wellbeing first.
