tell city council:
fund the delridge farmers market!
FUND OUR MARKET, FEED OUR NEIGHBORS!
What’s Happening: Delridge’s City Councilmember Rob Saka has included the Delridge Farmers Market in the 2026 Seattle Budget. As our community faces widespread cuts to SNAP and skyrocketing food prices, these funds will be critical to maintaining our Grab and Go Bag Program, our Produce Buyback Program, Kids Bucks, and our vibrant Market as a whole.
Councilmember Saka also included an amendment to fund ACHD’s Seattle International Public Market project - this investment supports the future of food access and small business support in Southwest Seattle with a permanent home for food vendors, small business incubator programs, and commercial kitchen space for production and distribution.
We need your help. These budget amendments are just the first step - City Council needs to know that Seattle residents support the Market!
Email all of the City Councilmembers and tell them you support Councilmember Saka’s budget amendment for the Delridge Farmers Market and the Seattle International Public Market!
You can send individual emails to each Councilmember if you have time, or send a group email to: council@seattle.gov.

Here’s some sample language for your email:
“Dear Councilmember,
I am writing to voice my support for Councilmember Rob Saka’s budget amendments in support of the Delridge Farmers Market and the Seattle International Public Market.
[insert language about why you love the Delridge Farmers Market, and why we need more City investments in Southwest Seattle!]
The Delridge Farmers Market provides critical healthy culturally-relevant food access to our Delridge neighborhood - their Grab and Go Bag program provides free, healthy food sourced from local farmers to food-insecure families, and their Produce Buyback Program supports farmers while reducing food waste and increasing food access. Kid Bucks let children make their own healthy food choices, and participate in their family’s shopping.
As we face cuts to SNAP, Medicare, and so many other programs, the Delridge Farmers Market’s programs are crucial to ensuring that our neighbors stay fed in 2026 and beyond. Please vote yes!”
Thank you for supporting the Delridge Farmers Market!!
