CURIOSITY LAB:
AFTER SCHOOL

Through hands-on experiments, exciting field trips, and engaging guest speakers of color, the "Curiosity Lab" will spark a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math in African Diaspora middle school students. The program provides Black STEM mentorship and representation to show our students that they can pursue their dreams and reach for the stars!

CURIOSITY LAB:
SUMMER INTENSIVES

The hands-on experiments, exciting field trips, and field studies continue this summer with Curiosity Lab! Summer intensives run the whole month of August. We will take a deep dive into the selected STEM topics of this summer. Spots are currently FULL but you can still register to join the waitlist!

OUTDOOR EXPLORERS

Join our experienced Naturalists and Educators in Washington’s forests, tidepools, and parks to explore, learn, and grow as a community. Outdoor explorers will meet at ACHD’s Learning Center and depart to our field locations for a day filled with outdoor adventure. Outdoor Explorers will culminate in a family camping trip hosted by The Wild Society. Spots are currently FULL but you can still register to join the waitlist!

POSITIVE FAMILY CONNECTIONS

Through workshops and Community Cafés, our Positive Family Connections program brings parents and teens together to navigate their changing relationships. This program facilitates intergenerational dialogue and promotes leadership and community connection.

GROW TOGETHER URBAN FARM

Our urban farm at Education for All in the Delridge neighborhood of Southwest Seattle encourages students to connect to their environment, and helps them learn where their food comes from.

MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

ACHD's mentorship program matches high school students with a mentor who will support them with college applications, internship opportunities, resume building, and general education resources. ACHD ensures we are providing a safe place to learn and build community - ultimately cultivating healthy mentor-mentee relationships that last a lifetime!

TECHNICAL EDUCATION

In partnership with the Port of Seattle, ACHD supports African Diaspora students through the process of applying to and attending Renton and Highline Technical Colleges, and to connect them to the workforce once they graduate.
