EDUCATION PROGRAMS
We are a team of talented educators that collaborate with community partners to provide quality educational programs to African Diaspora youth of South King County. We design and facilitate programs that address the whole child through social-emotional learning, culturally relevant teaching practices, experiential place-based outdoor education, and robust standards-aligned STEM curriculum.

CURIOSITY LAB:
AFTER SCHOOL
Through hands-on experiments, exciting field trips, and engaging guest speakers of color, the "Curiosity Lab" will spark a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math in African Diaspora middle school students. The program provides Black STEM mentorship and representation to show our students that they can pursue their dreams and reach for the stars!
OUTDOOR EXPLORERS
Join our experienced Naturalists and Educators in Washington’s forests, tidepools, and parks to explore, learn, and grow as a community. Outdoor explorers will meet at ACHD’s Learning Center and depart to our field locations for a day filled with outdoor adventure. Stay tuned for more information on registration!
POSITIVE FAMILY CONNECTIONS
Through workshops and Community Cafés, our Positive Family Connections program brings parents and teens together to navigate their changing relationships. This program facilitates intergenerational dialogue and promotes leadership and community connection.
MENTORSHIP PROGRAM
ACHD's mentorship program matches high school students with a mentor who will support them with college applications, internship opportunities, resume building, and general education resources. ACHD ensures we are providing a safe place to learn and build community - ultimately cultivating healthy mentor-mentee relationships that last a lifetime!
CURIOSITY LAB:
SUMMER INTENSIVES
The hands-on experiments, exciting field trips, and field studies continue this summer with Curiosity Lab! Summer Intensives will resume again next year, see you then!
