COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
In collaboration with community, we are breaking down barriers to success. We actively work to make Washington State a place where the African Diaspora community can find prosperity.

CULTURAL ANCHOR VILLAGE
Representing the future of the African Diaspora immigrant and refugee community in King County and beyond, the Cultural Anchor Village will be designed by and for the community as a response to rampant displacement and a historic underinvestment in the African Diaspora community.

BLACK HOMEOWNERSHIP
We are striving to provide an innovative and replicable homeownership model that leverages urban infill opportunities. In the Black immigrant and refugee community, the average household size is 7, and our homeownership model focuses on ensuring families of this size have a safe place to live.

VIBRANT PUBLIC MARKETPLACE
Inspired by our success with the Delridge Farmers Market, a permanent public market focused on entrepreneurs and small business owners from the immigrant and refugee community will open the door to long term prosperity. The market will be coupled with ACHD's existing low-cost workspaces, one-on-one mentorship, technical assistance, culturally specific support services, and advocacy to ensure the success of business owners.
