Our work started with housing, and it is still our largest area of focus. Nothing else can be improved within our community if our people do not first have safe, stable, and affordable housing.
We focus on preventing evictions by working with dozens of area landlords, with whom we have close relationships. If we are not able to mitigate solutions ourselves, we can provide the necessary legal referrals, while continuing to co-manage the issue with area attorneys, helping with translation and any cultural differences that may arise.
We have a 24/7 hotline for community members in need of housing assistance or in need of other basic supplies.
Our many Basic Needs programs encompass nearly every area of daily life. We provide school supplies and basic household supplies to multiple families each year, as well as furniture and essential home goods to increase household stability and provide equal access to basic life comforts.
